STEP B -- REPARTITION FOR 32 MB HARDWARE
========================================
nand partition 540
nand
It repartitions the internal flash, then prints the result so you can
confirm it took effect.
*** THIS ERASES THE CONTENTS OF THE INTERNAL NAND. ***
Only run it on a machine whose Windows CE is already gone, or which you
intend to reinstall from step2-upgrade immediately afterwards.
WHY 540 AND NOT 7e8
540 leaves about 10.6 MB of Flash Disk on a 32 MB machine, which is what
Windows CE needs in order to install.
7e8 is the value given in netbook-booting.txt and repeated in many forum
posts. It is correct for the 64 MB LX PROTOTYPE. On a standard 32 MB
machine it hands essentially the whole chip to the OS partition, and CE
then reaches its splash screen and dies. That looks like a corrupt CE
image and is not -- the partition is simply too small.
A script using 7e8 is deliberately NOT included in this release.
If BooSt answers "NAND error, invalid block(s) specified!" the value is out
of range for your chip. Go back to stepA-dump and read the geometry again.
