PSION'S PATCHED LINUX KERNEL FOR THE netBOOK PRO
================================================

else here was altered.)

EXTRAVERSION = -rc1-bk18-nb1
which is exactly what the machine runs. 4,471 lines of Psion's own driver
code. The CVS metadata is intact and still names their server:

This is a complete, buildable kernel for this hardware, from Psion, with
their drivers. After oe-netbook it is the most valuable thing in the
release.
WHAT TO LOOK AT
arch/arm/mach-pxa/ the netBook Pro machine support
the PCon driver the power controller, which is what makes
suspend, battery and the keyboard work
drivers/ Psion's own additions throughout
The matching build configuration is not in this tree but in
../../recovered/netbook-pro-kernel/defconfig. Read it before assuming
anything about the hardware -- it is how you learn that PPP and the whole
Bluetooth stack are modules (=m) rather than built in, which matters a great
deal for whether the machine can dial up.
A prebuilt kernel from this source, made on Psion's own build server on
4 January 2005, is in ../../original-images/.
THE PROJECT DOES NOT CHANGE THE KERNEL. The released images boot a
community rebuild of this same 2.6.9-rc1-bk18-nb1 source, made in March
2005 for CF booting.
