Psion's script for installing PsionLX to the netBook Pro's internal NAND.
Genuinely theirs, and one of the very few pieces of the actual installation
process that survives.
*** IT WRITES TO THE INTERNAL FLASH. *** It is here as documentation, not as
something to run. The released CF images do not touch NAND at all, and that
is deliberate -- see the warning in the release README.txt.
WHAT IT IS GOOD FOR
It records how Psion actually did it, which is not obvious and is not
written down anywhere else. The detail worth knowing is their nandwrite
invocation:
nandwrite --blockalign=2
That alignment is what the netBook Pro's NAND controller expects, and
getting it wrong produces an image that appears to write successfully
and will not boot.
If you ever want to put a Linux root filesystem into this machine's
internal flash rather than run it from a card, this file is the starting
point -- together with your own machine's real NAND geometry, read with
the stepA script in 2-WINDOWS-CE-RESTORE.
