kimg.deb, kx a kernel image package and its extraction
Debian sarge and etch for the "arm" architecture -- which was OABI, not
EABI. That is the whole reason these are usable: a 2005 Debian arm binary
runs on this machine unmodified.
They are here to satisfy build dependencies inside the emulated chroot, and
occasionally to supply a library directly where building it from source
would gain nothing.
USE THEM SPARINGLY, AND CHECK WHAT YOU TAKE
A Debian binary is not a Psion binary. Where Psion pinned a version and
patched it, their build is what belongs in the image -- see
PROVENANCE.txt, which marks every substitution.
And check the C++ runtime. Anything built against libstdc++ 4.1 will not
run on this card, which has 6.0.3. That is how Debian's AbiWord was
ruled out, and it is worth testing with elfsyms.py before installing
anything.
