BUILD JOBS
==========
One shell script per package, each with the console log it produced. They
run inside the emulated ARM OABI machine:
scripts/qbuild.sh jobs/job-abiword-spell.sh 7200
Read them before writing your own. They are heavily commented, and most of
the comments exist because something went wrong first -- the version Psion
pinned, why a particular configure flag, which patch order works, which
library the card actually has.
WORTH READING PARTICULARLY
job-abiword.sh Word. Psion's five patches, 4,515 lines in the
main one. Note it configures with BOTH
spellcheck backends disabled -- superseded.
job-abiword-spell.sh The corrected build. Explains why 2.0.11 has no
--with-aspell despite Psion's recipe passing it,
and why --enable-pspell is the route.
job-gnumeric.sh Sheet, and the menu XML that Psion's patch
repoints to a file the build never generated.
job-firefox.sh Web. The largest build here by a wide margin.
job-samba.sh for My Network. The aclocal.m4 syntax error that
looks like a busybox problem and is not.
job-aspell-dict.sh Spellchecking, built and USED in one boot --
three earlier attempts produced twelve
dictionaries of exactly 304 bytes each, which is
what an empty one weighs.
job-appmgr.sh The launcher, including the reconstructed strip.
THE RULE THAT CATCHES EVERYONE
qbuild.sh repacks the chroot from ../arm-oabi-chroot on EVERY run and
recovers only /build/out. Anything a job installs is gone by the next
job. If a job needs a library it also builds, it must build, install and
use it without leaving that boot.
Anything that must persist between jobs goes into ../arm-oabi-chroot,
which is the template.
AND THE OTHER ONE
A job must not redirect its own stdout. The harness watches the serial
console for the completion marker; redirect it and the run waits out the
full timeout having built everything perfectly.
