Nothing here is needed to run or build PsionLX. It is here so that every
substitution can be checked and every change reversed.
abiword-2.4-stock/
Stock AbiWord 2.4 and its AbiSuite-2.4 data tree, which the image
shipped before Psion's own AbiWord 2.0.11 replaced it.
gnumeric-1.4.3-stock/
Debian sarge's Gnumeric 1.4.3, replaced by Psion's own 1.3.93 build
with their nine patches.
orphaned-no-launcher/
Found by an inventory audit: binaries left on the card with nothing
to launch them.
AbiWord-2.4 4.2 MB. Its data tree had been parked when Psion's
2.0.11 replaced it, but the binary stayed. It
would have found no dialogs, templates or string
catalogue if anything had launched it.
mozilla-minimo/ 10 MB. The complete Minimo browser runtime, whose
launcher and .desktop were parked when Firefox
replaced it. Nothing referenced the path and
Firefox carries its own NSPR and NSS.
Minimo is genuinely lighter than Firefox 1.0 on this hardware. To
bring it back, restore this directory to /usr/lib/mozilla-minimo
along with parked minimo and minimo.desktop.
apm-debian-wrapper/
Debian's apm shell-script wrapper, which had replaced Psion's real
setuid-root apm binary. That mattered: Linux ignores setuid on
scripts, so the power button could not suspend the machine until
Psion's binary was restored. Both are here.
totem-gnome-logo/
Totem's stock GNOME artwork, replaced with a PsionLX image.
gnome-icons/, archival-stock/, libsmbclient-debian*/
Other originals kept from various substitutions.
balsa, balsa-ab, balsa.desktop, sylpheed, gpe-mini-browser, minimo,
libgstladspa.so and the loose files
Binaries from the base image that were replaced by Psion's own
builds, or by a better equivalent. Dates on these are the original
2004-2006 build dates.
psion.mbdock-*.inlined
Earlier forms of the dock configuration, before it was made
byte-identical to Psion's own psion.mbdock.
NOT HERE: boot.fat.with-nand-erase-script
The project kept a copy of the boot partition that carried the LX
prototype's NAND-erasing script. It is deliberately excluded from
this release. It has no value to anyone and writing it to a card
erases Windows CE. See README.txt in the root of this release.
