 An alternative build whose Programs screen carries ONLY the 21
 applications visible in Psion's own photograph of the netBook Pro
 prototype, and nothing else.

 Use psionlx-cf-1gb.img unless you specifically want this. The main image
 keeps the extra applications deliberately.

 HOW IT DIFFERS FROM THE MAIN IMAGE

 Two changes produce that screen, and only two.

 1. SEVENTEEN .desktop FILES ARE REMOVED -- Figment, Summary, Time
    Tracker, Audio mixer, Go, Lights Out, Othello, Play Memo, Plucker,
    Program manager, Record Memo, Root shell, Sokoban, Telnet, Tetris,
    Watch and xdemineur.

    They are kept in removed-menu-entries/ in the build tree rather than
    deleted. Data (Gaby) is also absent here, for the same reason: the
    photograph has no database application.

 2. PDF VIEWER IS MOVED from OFFICE to OTHER, which is where the
    photograph puts it. gpe-appmgr's Office group claims the Graphics
    category and gpdf's shipped .desktop carries it, so an override in
    /usr/share/gpe/overrides gives it categories that fall through to
    Other. Psion's own file is left exactly as they wrote it -- the same
    mechanism used for the Calculator name and the Web label.

 WHAT IS NOT DIFFERENT: every binary is still present. Only menu entries
 change.

 Removing the programs themselves would break things that are not
 applications at all. gpe-su, for instance, has no place in the
 photograph's menu, but the dock's card ejector runs
 "gpe-su -c /usr/bin/eject.sh"; and several hidden entries are the twins
 of panel applets. The screen matches the photograph; the system
 underneath is the same one.

 HISTORY OF THIS VARIANT

 It was first built on 28 September 2026 from its own frozen tree, and
 for a while it lagged behind the main image -- at one point its Sheet
 was still Debian's Gnumeric 1.4.3 where the main image had Psion's own
 1.3.93.

 THAT IS NO LONGER TRUE. As of 30 September 2026 both images are built
 from trees that receive the same work. The differences are now only the
 two listed above.

 Both images carry, identically:

   * Psion's AbiWord 2.0.11 with a working spellchecker (aspell 0.60.3
     plus the aspell6-en dictionaries)
   * Psion's Gnumeric 1.3.93 with their nine patches
   * Psion's /etc/modules and modules.conf, restored
   * Psion's firefox-url handler, so links open
   * the fontconfig tools
   * Printers, reachable at last -- and a printing stack that can actually
     reach a printer: the CUPS backends, lp and friends, and the daemon
     started at boot
   * every DT_NEEDED on the card resolving
   * the corrected boot partition, with no NAND script
