ZERO Wayback captures of the file page. copy 2 ul.to/p5yvr2 (uploaded.to) posted 2010-01-20 by "scops" a bundle: the 2.6.9 patch, mk-nBkProOsImg.c, nBkProOs.img, netbook-booting.txt, netbook-linux-sources.tgz AND the soho image. A second build, soho-image-netbook-pro-20040831070503.rootfs.jffs2, is named on the auditeon wiki and has no archived trace on any host. STILL IN PRIVATE HANDS. On HPC:Factor tid=15975, user "AcidSnoop" states he holds the PsionLX sources, the boost image and the filesystem, but cannot share them without Zebra Technologies approval. That is the only surviving route to the soho image, and it is a person, not a URL. WHAT THE SWEEP RECOVERED (new, and now held here): recovered/netbook-pro-kernel-2.6.9/linux-2.6.9-pre1-bk18-nbp1.patch 954,777 B. Psion-era netBook Pro kernel support for 2.6.9 -- the EXACT kernel this machine runs (2.6.9-rc1-bk18-nb1). 348 hunks patching linux-2.6.9_nbp/, including arch/arm/mach-pxa/netbookpro.c, arch/arm/configs/netbookpro_defconfig and NETBOOKPRO_PCON_COMMAND_ADDR. Everything previously held under recovered/netbook-pro-kernel/ is the LATER 2.6.17 set, which does not correspond to the running kernel. The NetBook LX installer the auditeon wiki names but never provided: it globs /rootfs/*.jff or *.jffs2 and writes it to NAND with /bin/flash_eraseall -j /dev/mtdblock0 /bin/nandwrite --blockalign=2 /dev/mtdblock0 ${FILE} The --blockalign=2 is the load-bearing detail for this hardware. SECONDARY FORGES -- swept, all negative: Google Code Archive (project.json probed for ~30 name variants, plus CDX namespace enumeration), Gitorious (git data gone; only an HTML stub of oe/oe survives), Savannah, BerliOS, GitLab.com and salsa.debian.org, Bitbucket, Codeberg/Gitea/git.kernel.org/repo.or.cz (full project indexes pulled for 2020-2025, ~7,200 projects each), Launchpad. Zero PsionLX/netBook Pro source. The two Codeberg "psionlinux" repos are Series 5MX SA-1100 EPOC-era, not the XScale PXA255 netBook Pro. METHOD WARNING for anyone continuing this hunt: - archive.org/wayback/available currently returns NONE even for known-archived controls. Do not read it as evidence of absence. - The Wayback CDX API silently returns an EMPTY result set when throttled, which looks identical to "no matches". Always run a known-positive control query in the same batch, and space domain-wide queries ~35s apart. Several false negatives in this sweep vanished on retry after backoff. - CDX domain-wide queries against very large hosts (bitbucket.org, code.google.com) 504 or return empty; use matchType=prefix instead. ===================================================================== THE PRIMARY TARGET WAS ALREADY HERE, UNEXTRACTED (found 2026-09-30) ===================================================================== auditeon/netbook-linux-sources.tgz -- held since 27 Sep, 106,074,940 B, 31,531 files -- had never been opened beyond oe-netbook. It is Psion's own source drop, and it contains PSION'S COMPLETE PATCHED KERNEL TREE: psion-src/linux-2.6.9/ 19,424 files, now extracted Makefile says EXTRAVERSION = -rc1-bk18-nb1 which is EXACTLY the kernel string the device reports: "Linux netbook-pro 2.6.9-rc1-bk18-nb1" So this is the source for the kernel actually running on the machine. Psion's own authored driver code in it -- 4,471 lines across 17 files: arch/arm/mach-pxa/netbookpro.c 417 lines arch/arm/configs/netbookpro_defconfig 1,102 lines drivers/i2c/chips/nbp-pcon.c 615 the power controller drivers/input/keyboard/netbookpro.c 384 drivers/misc/netbookpro/nbp-battmon.c 427 drivers/misc/netbookpro/nbp-power.c 349 drivers/misc/netbookpro/nbp-apm.c 133 the apm suspend path drivers/misc/netbookpro/nbp-spi.c, nvram.c, nbp-power.h, Makefile drivers/mtd/nand/netbookpro.c include/asm-arm/arch-pxa/netbookpro.h, -pcon.h, -ioctl.h AND IT IS A LIVE CVS CHECKOUT. CVS/Root, throughout the tree, reads: :ext:petern@psiondev.com:/var/lib/cvs module: linux-2.6.9 That is Psion's own CVS server and the developer's account -- "petern", Peter Naulls, the same name on the linneighborhood ipk. CVS/Entries carries per-file revisions. The server is long dead (psiondev.com is NXDOMAIN) but this is a genuine working copy taken from it. Also extracted from the same tarball: kdegames-3.3.1 (4,785 files). Everything in the tarball is now on disk except 12 upstream netfilter files (ipt_DSCP.h vs ipt_dscp.h and similar) which collide on a case-insensitive macOS filesystem. They are irrelevant to this machine and remain in the tarball. WHAT THIS MEANS. "Psion's full source" is, to a large extent, in hand and always was: their patched kernel, their oe-netbook recipe tree with all the application patches, and the app sources (gnome-games, kdegames, linneighborhood, rdesktop). What is NOT here, and remains lost, is the BUILT ROOTFS -- the soho image -- and the OpenEmbedded metadata Psion built against (the handhelds.org CVS "oe-vendor" tag), plus their krnbuild and sfi modules. ===================================================================== CORRECTIONS AND NEW FACTS (30 September 2026) ===================================================================== METHOD ERROR, WORTH MORE THAN THE FINDINGS. Most of this hunt used http://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx?... over plain HTTP. That endpoint returns 000/503; the SAME query over HTTPS returns 200. For hours this was reported as "the Internet Archive is down" when the Archive was fine and the queries were malformed. ALWAYS use https for CDX, and always pair a query with a known-archived control in the same batch -- an empty CDX result is indistinguishable from a broken one. (topic_id=7535), post by AcidSnoop dated 07.11.2007 19:40, posts BOTH: rapidshare.com/files/67872227/soho-image-netbook-pro-20050104074212.rootfs.tar.bz2 rapidshare.com/files/68105196/nBkProOs.img with German install instructions: CF card, partition 1 FAT16 10 MB holding nBkProOs.img, partition 2 ext2 >=140 MB holding the extracted soho image, and -- note -- NAND deliberately untouched so Windows CE survives. The scops uploaded.to bundle of Jan 2010 was a RE-UPLOAD of this 2007 release, not a separate source.
