UPSTREAM GPE RELEASES

    gpe-appmgr-2.8.tar.gz 59 KB
    gpe-buttonbox-0.5.tar.bz2 163 KB
    minimix-0.6.tar.bz2 54 KB

The upstream releases of the components whose PSION SOURCE is lost.

Psion's own gpe-appmgr and gpe-buttonbox came from their private CVS --
cvs.psiondev.com, recipe tag GPE_APPMGR_56 -- which no longer exists and was
never archived. Psion's BUILT versions survive, inside the soho image in
../../soho-image/, and the released images run those. These upstream
tarballs are the nearest surviving relatives of the source, and the first
edition of this release, made before the soho image was found, rebuilt the
launcher and dock from them.

WHAT THAT RECONSTRUCTION ADDED (NOW SUPERSEDED BY PSION'S OWN)
The right-hand TODAY / PROGRAMS / TASKS strip, rotated vertically.
The red power button at its foot, and its suspend action.
The Today screen as the startup view.
The category rows with rotated OFFICE / INTERNET / PIM / OTHER labels.

All of that was written for this project and measured against the
prototype photograph in 5-REFERENCE/ui-photos/. The modified source is
    in 4-BUILD-SYSTEM/gpe-src/base/gpe-appmgr/, principally row_view.c.

It was an imitation of photographs, not Psion's code. Psion's own
launcher, artwork and icons are in the soho image; the power button,
for one, is orange, not red.

minimix is the volume applet in the dock and is upstream unmodified; Psion
listed it in psion-media.
