OVERVIEW OF THIS RELEASE
***********************************************************************************************
Further changes to I2C bus communication for increased reliability.

***********************************************************************************************
SPECIAL NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS.
***********************************************************************************************
Netbook units in the field with PCon version earlier than -310 (K224j), which have never
had their PCon upgraded via YModem or storage card, might fail when a PCon upgrade
is attempted. That problem was fixed in the -310 release, of BooST and PCon, and is
included in this release.

The result of the failure is a unit that will not power on, and cannot get into BooSt.
The only way to recover a dead unit is to reprogram PCon using flashm16.exe and the
serial port, usually done at a repair depot.

To allow earlier PCons to avoid this problem, if the existing BooSt and PCon are earlier than
K224j, UPGRADE THE BOOST FIRST, to -404, then upgrade the PCon to -404. In future, should
downgrading of either be necessary, it should be safe as long as either BooSt or PCon is kept at
the -311 level or higher.
(In this context "safe" means that the change can be reversed, not necessarily that
a particular combination of BooSt and PCon and OS, will work properly.)

When units are upgraded to -402, BooSt, PCon and the OS should be taken to -402 at the
same time.

An upgrade script that explicitly loads and runs the new boost before upgrading Pcon,
is distributed with field upgrade packages for the Netbook Pro.

With the -311 release of OS, the OS does not set the default time, so with PCon
-309 and later, and the -311 or later OS, the default date and time will be set to
Feb. 1 2004 00:00:00. This includes this -404 release.

If upgrading from a PCon version prior to G094, the user will notice that the left-hand LED
on the Netbook Pro will now sometimes light red when the case is closed, and stay on
for 20 seconds or so. The LED will show red when the "suspend" dialog is active
on the screen and the case is closed, to serve as a continuing reminder not to
remove power until the LED goes out.

Changes in This Release:
**************************************************************************************
Date: Nov 29 2005
Type: Intermediate
Date Code:	K295q
Version:	1000985-404

PRJ92
Attempt recovery from a hung I2C bus

SCR 12102:
Prevent I2C bus lockup on Rev E 7535 (not likely to affect Netbook Pro, but included)

***********************************************************************************************
Changes in Previous Releases included in this release:
***********************************************************************************************
C095l (1000985-400)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 10275:
Minor JTAG robustification; manufacturing impact only.

***********************************************************************************************
K304q (1000985-311)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 10368:
Make PCon firmware update work with recent M16C_62P parts. Recent changes to this
component parts' functionality were causing Pcon upgrades via storage card or YModem
to fail in other similar Psion Teklogix Products. Although this problem has not been seen
in Netbook Pro, the changes made in those products are now included to avoid future problems.

***********************************************************************************************
K224j (1000985-310)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 10495:
Prevent PCon firmware update failures. Prevents failure of PCon upgrade when it is done
via YModem or storage card. Note that either this change, once flashed into PCon, or the
BooST change made under the same SCR number, will allow the PCon to thence be
reflashed successfully.

***********************************************************************************************
K124n (1000985-309)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 10443:
Ensure default date and time get set in RTC on first time power up. PCon will default
the date and time to Feb. 1 2004 00h 00min 00sec. After OS release -311, this default
will not get overridden by the OS on startup.

SCR 10430:
Prevent Netbook Pro from locking up on cold start, if battery door is held open after battery
insertion, and external power is not applied.

***********************************************************************************************
H244q (1000985-308)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 9912:
Prevent main battery gas gauge (capacity indication) corruption when battery removed.

OTHER:
Changes to fix manufacturing test issue.

***********************************************************************************************
H034m (1000985-307)
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 9868:
Ensure system enters suspend when hardware signals power fail (for manufacturing test only)

***********************************************************************************************
G094p (1000985-306 )
***********************************************************************************************
SCR 7230.4:
Leave CARD_SENSE_POWER signal asserted if any PCMCIA or CF card inserted

SCR 8390, SCR 8696, SCR 8731 and SCR 8732:
Fixes to resolve some lockup conditions that required all battery removal to recover.

SCR 9448:
Implement wake on RTC alarm (requires changes to BooST also).

SCR 9651:
Several changes to prevent lockups when battery door triggered inadvertently.
Note that now the red LED will turn ON if the unit is suspending while the case is closed.
This is to remind users that they should not remove power during this brief (20 second) period.

OTHER:
Minor changes to sleep(), mssleep(), and nanosleep() functions (changes to BooST also).
