In order to provide an accurate estimate of the remaining battery capacity, the Psion LX must see a full charge/discharge or discharge/charge cycle in order to learn the characteristics of the battery and calibrate the battery gauge.
Until this is done, the battery information control panel will indicate 'Not calibrated', and the reported capacity will not be very accurate. Psion Teklogix recommends that the battery be fully charged when the unit is first received, then fully discharged before being charged again, thus calibrating the battery gauge.
To check the battery power:
The Battery tab gives a brief description of the state of the internal battery.
Note: When your Psion LX is switched off, it is on 'Suspend' and will continue to use a small amount of battery power. If you are going to leave your Psion LX switched off for a long period of time, you are advised to back up your data beforehand because the batteries will eventually run out.
